From the Tower of Learning to the Bazaar of Knowledge

In mid-December last year, Luka Bebić, Speaker of the Croatian Parliament, opened the new university library in Split. It was mentioned several times on that occasion that this was the biggest scientific and cultural investment in the history of Split. Among other things, Bebić said in his speech that this library will be the focus of students’ life and the driver for transferring knowledge and information. Similar words were heard in March this year, when Dragan Primorac, Minister of Science, Education and Sports, cut the ribbon of the new library of the Faculty of Philosophy. At the opening ceremony the project was presented as extremely important, because it is the second largest library in the country.
