As intensely as by the modernist forms and spaces or by the labyrinthine shadows of the Barri Gòtic, the architectural identity of Barcelona is also defined by the austere severity of buildings reflecting the former importance of this city as an industrial area at the end of the 19th  and dawn of the 20th century.
