There is no Art, Beyond Architecture

The Venice Biennale of Architecture has, in comparison with the Biennale of Visual Arts, a relatively short tradition. Paolo Portoghesi should be thanked for the realization of the ‘Strada Novissima’ exhibition which, in terms of the history of architecture, represents a unique start. This exhibition not only placed Venice on the geographical map of awareness of contemporary architecture, but was at the same time an important contribution and marked a turning point in architectural discourse.
