Disseminating Architectural and Design Culture

interviewed by Maroje Mrduljaš

Deyan Sudjic is one of the leading critics of urban development, architecture and design. Educated as an architect, Sudjic is known for approaching these subjects from a wider, external cultural perspective, which enables him to successfully avoid the usual trap of a self-referential discourse. His many books are therefore marked by clarity and accessibility, based on erudition and a broad perspective. From the very beginning of his career, he has been part of some of the key activities that disseminated architectural and design culture, such as launching Blueprint magazine, curating the Venice Biennale of Architecture, acting as an editor-in-chief of Domus magazine, participating in the Urban Age project and, finally, managing the London Design Museum.
