Rijeka 2020 – European Capital of Culture 2020 project, titled Rijeka 2020 – Port of Diversity, is the most significant cultural event in the history of Croatia. It is an amazing opportunity for the City of Rijeka to transform its marginality into a new value based on new, socially sensitive, inclusive, progressive, innovative and practical initiatives and actions. Ideally, Rijeka 2020 should present a new European cultural dimension, radically different from Croatian mostly narrow-minded and primitive culture.  

It is precisely the RiHub project which anticipates such a hypothetical scenario. Ida Križaj Leko and Ana Boljar turned Ex-Bernardi into a new Rijeka cultural and social hub, which will provide all those who are interested with an opportunity to join the Rijeka 2020 project. At a surface somewhat larger than 1000 m2, at the address Ivana Grohovca 1, RiHub houses the Rijeka 2020 – European Capital of Culture information centre, the centre of participatory programmes where citizens can apply for, choose and realise their projects, a multifunctional hall and the first co-working space with 35 work posts.
