Documentary Archaeological Museum Narona

On Thursday, 13 September, 7 pm at Oris House of Architecture, there will be a projection of the documentary by Goran Vuković called Archaeological Museum Narona: Idea, Project, Realization.
 
Documentary Archaeological Museum Narona: Idea, Project, Realization by Goran Vuković was made in 2016 and premiered on 25 February 2017 at the Narona Archaeological Museum, as part of its tenth anniversary celebration programme.  The documentary shows the history of ancient Narona and the idea, project development and realization of the archaeological museum in Vid, a small town near Metković built over the ruins of Narona. The museum was built after the remains of the Temple of the first Roman Emperor Augustus and a unique collection of sculptures of the members of the Julio-Claudian and Flavian dynasty were found at the location in 1995 and 1996. The documentary presents the main participants of the project – Emilio Marin, archaeologist who found the antiquities, Goran Rako, designer of the museum and Božo Biškupić, minister of culture at the time the museum was planned and constructed. The film also shows the materials from the designer’s archive, which cast light on the architectural process of this awarded project.
