Exhibition: Chilean artist Francisca Benedetti - Ascesis

28/08/2015

On Tuesday, 8 August 2015 at 7 p.m. , the exhibition Ascesis of Francisca Benedetti, organized by Oris House of Architecture will be opened at the Gallery Ring of Croatian Association of Artists.

Francisca Benedetti was born in 1977 in Santiago de Chile. Since 2008 has worked as a visual artist with drawing and embroidery, alternating her formal strategies between each discipline. She has taken part in solo and collective exhibitions such as Ascesis (Víctor Saavedra Gallery, Barcelona, 2015), Chaco: Feria de arte Contemporáneo (2014), Geometría Intuitiva (Castillo del Parque, Santiago, 2013), ArteBa (Buenos Aires, 2012), Metamujer (XS Gallery, Santiago, 2011) and Fractales (Santiago, 2010).

Work is geometric abstraction that is actually a radical incarnation of modesty. The nature of that abstraction is of the same stuff as the romantic vision. Like romanticism, the passion in Benedetti’s work is a passion for the infinite. In this way, Francisca Benedetti masterfully provides us with a glimpse of our own eternity.
Raúl Zurita, from the catalogue of the exhibition

Apart from building a succesfull artist career, Francisca Benedetti is a prominent ex fashion model and wife of a famous Chilean architect Mathias Klotz whose work we have seen in March this year in Oris House of Architecture.

The exhibition will be open until 20 September 2015.
