On Tuesday 21 March 2017 at 7 pm in Oris House of Architecture, architects Dinko Peračić and Roman Šilje will deliver a lecture on the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Osijek. The faculty's new building, which is the project of Peračić and Šilje, officially opened in April 2016. The architects will present all stages of its development, from the context, initial ideas, restricitions of the terrain, adjustments to the final realisation.

In March 2017 together with the magazine Oris (issue 103), a new edition called Oris+ saw the light of day. The first issue of the edition Oris+ is dedicated in its entireity to the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Osijek. In the text titled The Spatial Fissure, architect Hildegard Auf-Franić summarizes the values of the project in question by stating the following:

The Faculty building also conveys a message: the synthesis of design in the context of the enviroment, evaluation of the existing state, valorisation of archeology and conservator's guidelines and, finally, the architectural thesis – idea and the selection of the construction have resulted in a valuable authorial project.

Dinko Peračić
Received an MAA from the Institute of Advanced Architecture of Catalonia [IAAC] in Barcelona, and an architecture and urban planning degree from the Faculty of Architecture, University of Zagreb. He is the founder of the Platforma 9.81 - Association for architectural research and a partner in the ARP architectural studio. From 2008 he has been working as an assistant at the Faculty of Architecture in Split and since 2014 as a visiting professor at the Department of Architectural Design. He won the second prize of the Salon of Architecture in 2006 with R. Šilje for design of the Civil Engineering Faculty in Osijek; in 2009 with Miranda Veljačić for the revitalization project of the Youth Centre in Split; he won the international prize Piranesi for 2015 for the design of market and fish market in the town of Vodice.

Roman Šilje graduated from the Faculty of Architecture, and obtained his master's degree at the IAAC in Barcelona. Since 2007 he has been at the head of the Zagreb based architectural studio NORMALA. In 2006-2009 he worked as junior lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture in Zagreb, and in 2010-2012 he was Head of the Council of the Croatian Architects Association's Publishing Department. Together with D. Peračić, he was awarded the 2nd prize of the Salon of Architecture in 2006 for the design of the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Osijek.
