Exhibition: Tihomil Kreitmayer - Portraits and Landscapes
01/06/2015
On Tuesday, 16 June 2015 at 7 p.m. the exhibition of the works of Tihomil Kreitmayer will be opened.
Throughout his long career Tihomil Kreitmayer has eagerly worked as an architect and a promotor of the art of construction. He will present himself to the audience through another aspect of his work – his drawing skill. We will exhibit his croquis portraits of architects and drawings of landscapes, which have been created during many events of meeting with world-known architects and exchanging opinions with them and travels throughout Croatia and abroad.
As architecture gets frequently compared to music, the term perfect pitch can emerge as an adequate comparison tool. A perfect drawing by an architect could then be compared to it. To have a perfect pitch is akin to an architect having a perfect ability to draw, which no mater how much training one gets, can ultimately be achieved only by a limited number of architects. Tihomil Kreitmayer is one among these architects who use drawing not only as a professional tool but as an authentic way to live one’s life in a profession.
