Under the Stage Lights

written by Barbara Lesák

In the early phases of theatre staging preparation, the issue of lighting does not yet appear. Other elements of a performance have to be elaborated: suggestions for efficient movement of the characters are checked and modified, usage of voices is considered, rhythm is given to the actors’ language, their positions and movement in space are tested. It is all still far away from the dress rehearsals. In this preparation phase, a theatrical performance is in its elementary state, but its reception is already possible.
